Wuhan, capoluogo della provincia di Hubei che conta 60 milioni di abitanti, nella Cina centrale, polo commerciale attraversato dal Fiume Azzurro e dal Fiume Han, è l’epicentro della pandemia. Il 9 gennaio le autorità locali comunicano che casi di polmonite anomale già registrate nel mese di novembre o addirittura da ottobre sono causate da un nuovo ceppo di Coronavirus probabilmente trasmesso da una specie animale. Il 21 febbraio si registrano i primi casi in Italia, nel Lodigiano: si tratta però di persone non provenienti dalla Cina. A dimostrazione di come il virus sia già presente nel nostro Paese. È l’inizio dei tre mesi che cambiano la storia d’Italia: scuole chiuse, attività lavorative interrotte, milioni di persone recluse in casa, famiglie divise senza potersi incontrare e abbracciare, medici e infermieri eletti a nuovi eroi, mascherina e guanti indispensabili per tutti. Settimane lunghissime e cariche di angosce, paure, dolori, lutti e speranze anche per la comunità forlivese che consegnano ai posteri immagini inedite da conservare come monito e ricordo per le prossime generazioni. Ecco perché le abbiamo volute racchiudere e raccontare in questo libro.
